Ancient wisdom for modern times.

A holisitic alternative to traditional therapy, with Amy Sedgwick.

Timeless practices for navigating life’s deepest questions.

The world moves fast. We're constantly connected, overwhelmed with information, and expected to make decisions based on logic and analysis alone. Yet some of life's most important questions can't be answered by thinking harder or gathering more data. Sometimes we need to slow down, turn inward, and listen to sources of wisdom that live beyond our everyday mind.

For thousands of years, humans have used specific practices to access inner guidance, heal from trauma, and connect with something greater than themselves. These ancient methods — walking meditative paths, tending our dreams, and journeying to spiritual realms — are not relics of the past. They are living practices that offer profound support for the challenges of modern life.

Hi. My name is Amy.

I'm a Registered Occupational Therapist who bridges the worlds of clinical practice and ancient wisdom traditions. My work weaves together over two decades of experience in mental health and holistic healing with specialized training in psychedelic-assisted therapy, embodied dreamwork, shamanic counseling, and labyrinth facilitation. Whether you're seeking support for overwhelming emotions, guidance through life transitions, or a deeper relationship with your inner world, I create a safe, welcoming space where ancient practices meet contemporary understanding — and where you can discover your own path home to yourself.

Offerings

  • Woman walking a stone labyrinth by a seashore.

    Labyrinths

The labyrinth is an ancient pattern found across cultures and centuries. Unlike a maze, it has a single winding path that leads you to the center and back out again. Walking the labyrinth quiets the mind, connects you with your body, and creates space for insight to emerge. As a Veriditas-trained Labyrinth Facilitator, I guide individuals and groups in this meditative practice that integrates body, mind, and spirit.

  • Surrealist image with a hot air ballon with a giant top hat on top, against a cloudscape.

    Dreamwork

Your dreams are not random noise — they are messages from your inner world, offering guidance and healing when we learn to listen. Through embodied experiential dreamwork, based on the teachings of Dr. Leslie Ellis, you learn to re-enter your dreams as felt experiences rather than puzzles to decode. This gentle, somatic approach helps you access wisdom that lives beyond words and can be especially powerful for healing nightmares and processing difficult emotions.

  • Door leading into an old growth tree.

    Shamanic Journeying

Shamanic journeying is one of humanity's oldest spiritual practices. In Harner Shamanic Counseling, developed by anthropologist Michael Harner, you learn to journey to non-ordinary reality to meet compassionate spiritual teachers who offer guidance on your most important questions. Using rhythmic drumming to alter consciousness, you discover your own capacity to access extraordinary wisdom and experience a profound sense of empowerment and connection.

What these practices share:

Though each practice is distinct, they share common threads:

They honour your direct experience. Rather than relying on someone else's interpretation, these practices teach you to trust your own inner knowing. Whether you're walking the labyrinth, exploring a dream, or journeying to meet spiritual teachers, you are the one having the experience and discovering what it means for you.

They engage the body's wisdom. These aren't purely intellectual exercises. Each practice involves the body — the rhythm of footsteps on a path, the felt sense of a dream image, the altered state created by drumming. Your body holds wisdom that your thinking mind cannot access alone.

They create space for the non-rational. In a culture that prioritizes logic and productivity, these practices offer permission to slow down, be receptive, and allow insight to arise in its own time. They trust that sometimes not-knowing is the doorway to deeper understanding.

They are gentle and respectful. There is no pressure to perform, no right or wrong way to practice. You move at your own pace, explore what calls to you, and always remain in control of your experience.

They connect you with something greater. Whether you think of it as your unconscious, your higher self, or the spiritual dimension, these practices help you access wisdom beyond your everyday awareness. Many people find that this connection brings a sense of meaning, purpose, and joy.
